  • Hmmm...

yellow_roses My son went out tonight and came home with two dozen yellow roses that he hid behind his back and made a big show of presenting to me in front of the neighbors.  He's been wanting me to talk about how awesome he is; maybe he figured I needed some inspiration?  Either that or he wants something really, really bad.  My money is on the latter.

Maria, on the other hand, is awesome all by herself and doesn't need to bribe me with gifts.  (There, Maria, are you happy now?)

The june bugs are out thick tonight.  I hate those things.  They crunch when you step on them, they fly right in your face, and they have those icky, sticky feet so you can't get them off of you when they do land on you.  Ugh.

I thought I broke my camera today.  Actually I thought I broke Bruce's camera... his $800 camera that I kept telling him he didn't need, but he bought it anyway so I confiscated it and use it for work every day.  Yeah, that one.

I stopped by the park on the way to work and got some pictures of the kids playing at the "Fun in the Sun" thing they have every week.  I got done, put the camera back safely in its case, pulled the strap over my arm and headed off to the car.

Okay, I thought I pulled the strap over my arm.  Apparently I didn't.  When I let go, the thing hit the ground right on the tip of the lens.  Ack!

I checked it out in the car and the lens cap was jammed, but I managed to work that free.  It looked good enough, no worse for wear, really, so I pointed it out the window and tried to take a picture.

The damned thing wouldn't focus.  Double Ack.

When I got into the office, I called our photographer, who happened to have a day off today.  She just lives around the corner, so she came in to see if she could figure out what was wrong with it.

We had pretty much decided that it needed shipped off for repair, so I just sat there fiddling with it while we were talking about other stuff.  I wasn't even paying attention to what I was doing, and suddenly I hear this big "pop".

I looked at her... she looked at me... then I turned the camera on and gave it a shot.  Eureka!

All I can say is, thank God!  That's one bill I seriously didn't need, nor did I need to explain what an idiot I am to have dropped the stupid thing to begin with.

It was a good day to be Trish.    Those don't come around very often, so I take what I can get.
